URGENT: Polling place workers needed in Travis County for the November 5 election!
Requirements:
You must be a registered voter in Travis County to be a judge or alternate judge.
Election clerks must be registered to vote in Travis County or be a high school student age 16 or older with permission (form: https://www.sos.texas.gov/elections/forms/seciform.pdf ).
For this election there will be at each location a judge, alternate judge, and two clerks.
Pay:
For this election judges and alternates are paid $12 per hour.
For this election clerks are paid $10 per hour.
Training:
A 3 hour in-person training class is required. Many options are available. Travis County will call you to schedule your training. Classes are near the Travis County Office at 5501 Airport Blvd.
Hours:
The day is roughly 6 AM until 8 PM. Judges and alternates must work the full day. Clerks may work the full day or split the shift with someone (6AM-1PM and 1-8PM).
Also the judge must return the ballots and voting media to the county after the polls close.
The judge must also go to the polling site before election day for setup to be scheduled with the county.
